Megan provides Rossman clients with strategic advice on message development, media relations, issue management and crisis communication.
She honed her skills – and her thick skin – while working as deputy press secretary to Gov. Jennifer Granholm. Megan served as a spokeswoman for the governor, helping to implement communications and planning to advance Granholm’s economic plan. Brown’s key areas of expertise include economic development, education, renewable energy and transportation.
Megan was the governor’s media liaison on her jobs investment mission to the Middle East and at the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colo. She was also appointed as the lead public information officer for the State of Michigan Joint Information Center during the Influenza A (H1N1) pandemic in 2009. During her stint with Granholm she pitched and secured more than 150 national interviews for the governor.
Prior to joining the governor’s office in January 2006, Megan interned in publicity at Simon and Schuster Inc. in New York City. Brown earned her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. Besides being a political junkie, Brown loves running, traveling, Mexican food, cereal and her hometown, Traverse City.
